Welcome to the LATIN BEAT DANCE CLUB - Vancouver's popular Latin dance connection! My name is Susi Haemmerle, and I am a professional dance instructor and host of the Latin Beat Dance Club. I offer dance classes at various locations in the Lower Mainland, teaching popular Latin-American dances like Salsa and Salsa-Rueda, Merengue, Cha Cha, Bachata and Rumba, international ballroom dances like Tango, Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep and Social dances like Hip Hop, Swing 'n' Jive, Street Hustle, Samba, Paso Doble, Argentine Tango and even Zumba Fitness! |

Having graduated after 3 years of study at a Ballroom Dance Academy in Germany, I gained 20 years of experience in teaching various styles of dancing in different levels. As Cuban style Latin dances grew extremely popular, I founded the "Latin Beat Dance Club" in 1997 with the goal to create a network of people sharing the fun and excitement of dancing, while making them feel comfortable interacting with their fellow members/students. Since then our Club has gained over 5000 members that receive regular e-mails, and I'm happy to say that whenever we get together, we are indeed a very friendly crowd, where it is easy to meet people and make good friends. Membership is FREE (!), and you will stay connected with the rest of us by getting regular Newsletters (Updates) or Event Announcements, so you will know all the details as to what's going on and where: dance lessons and events, parties and other get-togethers to practice dancing. Hope to see you soon in one of my classes or events,
Susi.

Hi Susi, I love your new Zumba class. I hope you'll have another session soon! So,
I think everyone knows about Susi's new Zumba classes right now. |

If you have the time to
attend a class with Susi, I would recommend it. I have learned a lot
with her. A few things that make time with her valuable:
1) She truly explains things in a very simple and effective manner. She breaks down the steps. For example, we learn quite a few moves about cha-cha this Sunday in a relatively short period of time, and I felt that I can use them confidently next time on the dance floor. Other instructors have explained cha-cha at the complimentary lessons and I have walked away more confused than before the class. 2) She will give you a lot practical advice about social dancing rather than only showing off difficult moves (i.e. how to keep the beat, change speed, connection with the partner, avoid difficult movements, etc). 3) Since she is a woman and has spent time in Cuba you might find useful hearing her feedback. I mean she spends time about hip movement and styling for women. I suspect that male instructors do not know about it or might not know how to teach you those things. |

We had a fun evening last
night. The 6 of us went (to howie's)...great
food ...at bargain prices for an evening of live music and dancing.
(...) Susi came and gave
us a salsa lesson (Vic and I had our very first salsa lesson..the
others have had a few lessons before) The band Rico and Mambo Jazz was
superb as we enjoyed an evening of great Latin music. (...) We will
certainly recommend this place to others.

We dined and danced at howie's
Bistro 2 Saturdays in a row in February and really enjoyed your
lessons. We enjoyed the fact that although we were there twice,
the variations you introduced were new (and) different from the week
before.

It's a good workout, an excellent way to break in that new pair of heals! I feel when I go dancing at any club I have a new sense of rhythm. |

I enjoyed Susi's Dance Classes very much. Her bright smile + laugh, pleasant attitude and extreme patience made it so much fun to learn, even during the most frustrating times. I am looking forward to more lessons from her and fun at Mesa Luna. |

Simple to follow instructions. Easy to pick up moves. Progression a little to slow, other wise a good class. |
